I am a Sonoma County photographer and also a mother to 3 little ones, a wife, a science teacher, and a creative.
I firmly believe that the power of photography lies in the storytelling, the sharing of emotion and in capturing the connections between loved ones. I prefer prompts and candids over poses, and though I will give direction, my approach is more natural, carefree and real. This is especially important when working with little ones. I strive for your session to be fun and welcoming and aim to capture the current season in your life as it is so that you may always go back and revisit these moments for years to come.

When I was younger, I loved to paint. I've always had a creative, artistic side but as life got busier, I found less and less time for it.
Career, homeowning, marriage, babies- all the best reasons to be "too busy". As most mamas know, babies really do fill up your cell phone camera gallery and I quickly felt the need to capture more of this fleeting time.
When my second was a young baby, I picked up our "fancy" camera and started taking classes and spending all my free time learning more while practicing on my own little muses.
I found my new creative outlet- documenting life and the beauty of it all. I felt called to do this for others as well, and so, Sylvia P. Photography was born.
